INDEPENDENCE AIR TO BEGIN NEW LOW-FARE ALBANY SERVICE

Albany, NY (May 19, 2004) - - - Rev. Michael A. Farano, Chairman of the Albany County Airport Authority today announced that Independence Air, the nation’s newest low-fare air carrier, will begin service to Albany International Airport on July 23rd. Independence Air is scheduled to offer seven daily non-stop flights to its hub at Washington-Dulles International Airport with connecting flights to 34 additional cities.
"We welcome Independence Air as a partner in our mission to further increase service and reduce fares for the more than 3 million people who travel to and from Albany International Airport each year," said Rev. Farano. "Independence Air offers our business and leisure travelers the opportunity to reach new destinations with fares that will help to further stimulate air travel and the region’s economy."
Independence Air's Albany service will provide connecting flights to the following cities:

Independence Air has announced one-way fares that will range from $59 to $103.

Independence Air formerly operated as Atlantic Coast Airlines and served Albany under the United Express Banner. Recently, Atlantic Coast announced it would end its relationship with United and create its own low-fare airline.
Independence Air plans to offer up to 300 daily flights to 35 cities throughout the United States and Canada on a fleet of 50-pasenger Bombardier regional jets. By fall, Independence Air plans to add Airbus-319 service to the west coast from its Washington-Dulles hub.
Independence Air will offer traditional toll-free reservations at 1-800 FLY-FLYi as well as a web based reservations system at www.flyi.com. Customers can print boarding passes from their home or office. Visitors to the web site can register for membership to the iCLUB to receive information about Independence Air and special offers and promotions that will be offered to members. Currently, those who sign up with the iCLUB will receive $25 off the price of their first roundtrip flight.
