Albany, NY (September 7, 2000) - - - Rev. Michael A. Farano, Chairman of the
Albany County Airport Authority today announced the beginning of Adirondack
Trailways bus service connecting the Albany International Airport with 14

The first scheduled Adirondack Trailways bus left the Airport at 2:00 p.m.
for points north including Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls, Lake George,
Warrensburg, Chestertown, Pottersville, Schroon Lake, Keene, Lake Placid,
Saranac Lake, Malone, Massena, Potsdam and Canton.
"The addition of Adirondack Trailways bus service provides North Country
residents with a convenient link to the Airport and offers arriving
passengers a new opportunity to reach destinations in the Adirondack
Region," said Rev. Michael Farano.
Initially, Adirondack Trailways will provide southbound service to the
Airport leaving Canton at 9:00 a.m. and arriving at the Airport at 4:00 p.m.
Northbound service will leave the Airport at 2:00 p.m. and arrive in Canton
at 8:35 p.m.
"I'm originally from the North Country and I know first hand that for many
individuals, getting to the Airport can be the most difficult part of their
journey," said John C. Egan, CEO of the Albany County Airport Authority.
"Today, we are injecting a bit of "travelers aid" into the system with the
addition of Adirondack Trailways which will provide travelers with a
door-to-door link to the Albany International Airport and our more than 100
flights each day."
Adirondack Trailways bus service will provide the first regularly scheduled
airport connection for upstate businesses, families and vacation travelers,
as well as the thousands of college students that attend the many colleges
in the Adirondack Region.
