The Albany International Airport will experience a one-minute period of
reflection on Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at 8:45 a.m. in remembrance
of those who perished in the attack on American on September 11, 2001.
All activities in the Terminal will stop at 8:45 A.M. There will be one
minute
of silence, after which Ms. Barbara Howard will sing "God Bless America."
Representatives of American and United Airlines will then place a wreath at
the base of the Airport 9/11 Memorial located directly outside the Terminal.
The Memorial was installed on September 14, 2001. Its reads "Guard And
Guide Those Who Fly."
Following the placing of the wreath, a prayer will be offered by Rev.
Michael A. Farano,
Chairman of the Albany County Airport Authority.
Live trucks will be permitted to park in the "taxi shoot" directly
across from the terminal.
