Albany, NY (December 3, 2025) – Albany International Airport (ALB) today celebrated the inaugural Breeze Airways® flights to and from Fort Myers, Florida (RSW), adding another popular nonstop option for Capital Region travelers. The new seasonal route, operating on Wednesdays and Saturdays, becomes Breeze’s third destination from ALB, joining Raleigh-Durham (RDU) and Charleston (CHS).

The Fort Myers service offers travelers direct access to Southwest Florida’s warm weather, beaches, and seasonal attractions at a time of year when many in the Northeast look south for a winter escape.

“Each new route Breeze brings to Albany is another vote of confidence in our airport and in the strength of our region’s travel market,” said Peter Stuto, Chief Executive Officer of Albany International Airport. “Fort Myers is a destination our travelers have been asking for, and today’s inaugural flights show how quickly this partnership is evolving. We look forward to seeing more Capital Region residents take advantage of this convenient and affordable nonstop service.”

Breeze’s continued growth in Albany comes at a pivotal time for the airport. The new Fort Myers service launches just as the holiday travel season ramps up; from Monday, November 24 through Monday, December 1 alone, nearly 40,000 travelers departed from ALB. That momentum reflects a broader trend: Albany International Airport is on track to record the busiest year in its history, with more than 1.5 million enplanements forecasted for 2025.

“Travel demand at ALB has never been stronger, and new routes like Fort Myers help ensure we are keeping pace with what travelers want,” said Samuel Fresina, Chair of the Albany County Airport Authority Board. “As we continue to modernize the airport through our $100 million terminal expansion, these additional nonstop options play a key role in meeting the needs of a growing and increasingly mobile Capital Region.”

Travelers can learn more about the new route or book flights directly by visiting flybreeze.com or downloading the Breeze Airways app. For airport information and a full list of nonstop destinations from ALB, visit albanyairport.com.
