The Sensory Room at Albany International Airport offers a quiet, calming space for travelers who may need a break from the sights, sounds, and activity of the terminal. Located on the first floor of the B Concourse, adjacent to the Adirondack Imaginarium children’s play area, the room opened in fall 2025 as part of ALB’s $100 million Main Terminal Revitalization Project.
Designed to support individuals with sensory processing differences – including travelers on the autism spectrum, those with anxiety, and anyone seeking a calmer environment – the Sensory Room reflects ALB’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the airport is accessible, inclusive, and welcoming to all.
The space features soft lighting, tactile materials, and soothing activities that allow travelers and families to relax, regroup, and reset before or after a flight. Whether used for a few quiet moments or a longer pause, the room provides a supportive environment that prioritizes comfort, dignity, and choice.
Together with nearby family-friendly amenities, the Sensory Room helps ensure that every traveler feels supported while moving through Albany International Airport.
Traveling through ALB and need a quieter moment? We welcome you to use the Sensory Room whenever you need it.
