ARFF

The Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Department (ARFF) stands ready around the clock to respond to aircraft emergencies at Albany International Airport. In addition, ARFF members respond to emergency medical calls, structure fires and hazardous material spills on Airport property.

All ARFF personnel are NYS certified Firefighters, NYS certified Emergency Medical Technicians, Hazardous Materials Technicians, and CPR/AED instructors. All personnel meet all FAA requirements for Airport Firefighters.

ARFF members operate a variety of emergency vehicles including three airport crash and rescue vehicles, a mini pumper, hazmat truck, foam re-supply truck, and a full-size pumper.
